She resumed her passion for jewellery in Hong Kong, the city where she has been living for 5 years and where she has launched her new brand, Creating Things by Andrea. All her pieces are designed and handmade by herself from her workshop. The design process begins with the conceptualization of the initial ideas. This is the part she enjoys the most because it allows her to convey what for her is the true value of a piece, "that is unique and different". The pieces she exhibits with Ame Gallery represent her fascination for geometric figures, symmetries with an industrial touch. She is attracted to clean, straight surfaces that allow the nobility of the material to stand out. These are pieces which put us in touch with the intimacy of jewel making, the observation of its primary principals and elements. The manipulation of materials led to a series of jewels whose creative inspiration comes from the idea of movement. Folds, creases, grooves or intertwining sheets and threads interact with the observer’s perception in such a way that they seem to move before our eyes. Plus, there is actual movement in response to the user’s action on the jewel. ​ Other elements of Antonio Bernardo’s design identity are the finishing treatments on jewel surfaces. Many of his items present a brushed finish, sometimes connected to polished surfaces which reflect light. Antonio Bernardo operates with traditional jewelry making techniques and typologies, giving them the contemporary and irreverent qualities of his authorial design. Inverting the logic in diamond setting, creating new cuts or celebrating a special gem, with which he creates unique, first-class jewels, the designer surprises when he revisits tradition. Decorations extended from the body—decorations that are exaggeratedly big and thus change the profile and shape of the body. 2. Surface decorations attached to the body-decorations that are tightly covering the body and thus give the wearer new appearance and visual experience. Through making jewelry, I explain how the overexpress costumes and luxurious jewelry along with Eastern and Western history become the inspiration for my works. I present Chinese traditional craft as another inspiration of my collection, and display how the surprising flame can be generated when traditional patterns cross upon contemporary jewelry.
